Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association（ACFEA）The Australia China Friendship and Exchange Association (ACFEA) is a nonprofit organization that was established and registered in Sydney, Australia. The Association's Founding President is Dr. Chau Chak Wing, a respected Chinese Australian leader. Mr. Michael Jeffery (AC, CVO, MC), the former Governor General of Australia, is a honorary president of the Association. The Association aims to promote exchanges, foster understanding, enhance mutual trust, and achieve win-win cooperation between the two countries. The Association’s Advisory Board is comprised of prominent individuals in relevant fields who are committed to fostering productive engagement between China and Australia.
Since its inception in September 2005, the Association has promoted friendly cooperation and cultural exchanges between Australia and China by facilitating high-level events in the areas of trade, culture, education, art, and technology. Apart from those high level international forums held in Imperial Springs, the Association worked with the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) and held a large non-government event of “China and Australia Dessert Crossing “to celebrate the 40th anniversary of China-Australia diplomatic relations in 2012. In November 2014, the Association supported the CPAFFC and the Government of New South Wales to organize the inaugural China-Australia Governors/Premiers Forum in Sydney. In July 2015, the Association and the New South Wales Government jointly hosted the Boao Forum Sydney Conference. In September 2015, the Association and Australian War Memorial jointly hosted an event in Canberra to commemorate Chinese Australian Military History in Australia. This is the first time that the Australian War Memorial held a high-level event to commemorate this subject since its establishment in 1932. At the event, Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and many other high officials praised Dr. Chau for his philanthropy initiatives in Australia and contributions to China-Australia relations.
Currently, the Association headquarters in Sydney, with offices in Beijing and Guangzhou. It has become an important platform for people-to people contact between Australia and China.
The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC)
The Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC) is a national people’s organization engaged in people-to-people diplomacy for the People’s Republic of China. The aims of the Association are to enhance people’s friendship, further international cooperation, safeguard world peace, and promote common development. On behalf of the Chinese people, it makes friends and deepens friendships in the international community and between various countries around the world, lays and expands the social basis of friendly relations between China and other countries, and works for the cause of human progress and solidarity. It implements China’s independent foreign policy of peace, observing the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, while carrying out all-directional, multi-level and broad-area people-to-people friendship work to serve the great cause of China’s peaceful development and reunification and contribute to the building of a harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity. In launching its activities, it has support from the government and assistance from all sectors of the society. It has set up 46 China-regional or China-national friendship organizations and established relationships of friendly cooperation with nearly 500 non-government organizations and institutions in 157 countries.

Through our various projects and partnerships, our Members work to build bridges, encourage dialogue and promote inclusive and peaceful societies through the consolidation of democratic values and leadership. The direct exchanges with current leaders on a peer-to-peer basis, and our Member´s ability to deliver the right message at the right time, are our main added value and at the core of our impact.
In partnership with local, national, regional and international stakeholders, the World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid acts to strengthen leadership, good governance and institutional capacity in tackling today’s major challenges from a democratic perspective. Our main projects in these areas have been The Shared Societies Project, Global Leaders for Climate Action, Women Peace and Security, Preventing & Countering Radicalization &Violent Extremism and Next Generation Democracy.
Likewise, through direct, peer-to-peer exchanges between our Members and current leaders, as well as open dialogue with major stakeholders, we work to build bridges and foster consensus towards positive socio-economic and political change for more inclusive, democratic and peaceful societies. In this sense, we have supported countries or regions specific transition and reform processes in the Middle East and North Africa, the Horn of Africa, as well as in Bolivia, Haiti, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Serbia, South Africa and Timor-Leste.
To guide and inspire our work, the World Leadership Alliance - Club de Madrid organizes an annual thematic conference that brings together political and business leaders, expert practitioners and scholars to mobilize political will and commitment on key, global issues where our individual and collective experience, convening power and influence can make a difference.
